Performance  FAQ

Here are the most common inquiries regarding our performance program. For more information and program pricing, we invite you to book a one-on-one Strategy Session at your convenience.

| What disciplines do you primarily train for?

We primarily train reining horses and reined cowhorses. Our performance program is best suited for American Quarter Horses in these disciplines.

| Who will be training my horse?

All performance horses are trained by Jake Lundahl.

| How old does my horse have to be?

We are prepared to handle everything from green colts to aged bridle horses. We typically accept all qualifying horses below the age of 10, but exceptions can be made for older horses that are sound and capable.

| Do you accept other horses besides reining and cow horses?

Yes, on a limited basis. We are open to training colts and fillies meant for other western performance disciplines such as cutting, roping and barrel racing. However our standards for breeding, conformation and trainability still apply.

| Do you accept other breeds besides Quarter Horses?

Yes. However, the horses best suited for this program are typically Quarter Horses, Paint Horses, or half-Arabs bred for reining or cowhorse competition. Horses outside of this criteria are better candidates for our all-around program.

| What is the process for enrolling my horse in the performance program?

When you book a Strategy Session with us, we give you a call directly to provide more information, answer additional questions, and learn about your performance horse ambitions. This gives us a chance to determine if you and your horse are a good fit for the program. At the same time, you'll gain insight into how everything works, costs, next steps, etc.

If needed, we'll give you some time after the call to evaluate and plan for this important decision. Once you're ready, we'll schedule a follow-up call to create a plan of action, and guide you the rest of the way!
