Q: I see there are 2 trainers to choose from. Where can I find availability, and which trainer would be best for me?

A: Contact us directly. Our availability sometimes fluctuates based on the training and lessons that we do, so we encourage you to contact us directly for the most up-to-date information. If you're not sure which trainer would be the best fit, we'll give you a recommendation based on availability, your horse's level of training, and your level of horsemanship experience.

Q: Are helmets required for riding lesson participants?

A: No. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to wear an ASTM / SEI certified riding helmet during their lessons. Prior to the lesson, a Helmet Release form must be signed by the rider or parent/guardian of the child participating in the lesson. This allows an adult rider, or parent/guardian on a child's behalf, to choose for themselves whether or not a helmet is necessary.

Q: Will the trainer be riding my horse at all?

A: Yes. At our discretion, we may need to temporarily take your horse from you in order to demonstrate an exercise, work through a particular spot of resistance, or to avoid a potential safety issue if the horse is being reactive or disrespectful. We do this to keep you safe and ensure you make progress at a consistent pace. We're not content to stand idly by as you grind through hours of fruitless struggle, or get in a dangerous situation with your horse. When necessary, we will step in.

Q: Do you offer lesson horses for participant use?

A: Yes. We have several dependable horses that we use for beginner and intermediate riding lessons. These horses receive consistent training from us, and have extensive experience as youth show horses. If you don't own a suitable horse currently, or don't want to trailer to our place, these horses are a great option. Contact us directly for availability.

Q: What are the age or experience requirements for participants and horses?

A: Riders must be 7 years of age or older. Horses must be at least 2 years old, reasonably quiet and manageable on the ground and under saddle; able to walk, trot, canter, stop, back up, turn, and in general be ridden without a major incident.

Are you an experienced rider looking for more softness, control and finesse from your horses? A parent who wants your 4-Her to learn horsemanship skills in a safe and controlled manner? Or a novice horseman just trying to build confidence in the saddle?

We have the knowledge and experience you're after, and can tailor our riding program to suit your horsemanship needs and goals. We work hard to create actionable, practical lesson experiences - not preachy horse management lectures or nitpicking over posture and rein position. We prioritize action over theory and pack a ton of relevant information into our goal-oriented training sessions; ensuring you get the highest possible value from each session.
